COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (March 30, 2017) – Last Friday the U.S. Women’s and Men’s National Teams hosted 100 prep athletes from the Anaheim High School Unified School District and representatives from the district, City of Anaheim officials and Sports Anaheim following a significant donation of sports equipment to the nine Anaheim high schools.

At the end of 2016, USA Volleyball entered into a new contract with Sports Anaheim, a division of the city’s destination marketing organization, where Anaheim will continue to be the Official Host City of the U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Teams. The deal runs through the 2020 Olympic quadrennial.

Along with receiving the donation from USA Volleyball, the Anaheim high school players participated in a training session on six courts at the American Sports Centers – the same facility that the U.S. National Teams train in. Players and coaches for the respective U.S. Women’s and Men’s National Teams were on hand for the training session, then met with the prep players and signed autographs.

The philanthropic event was part of USA Volleyball’s mission to give back to the Anaheim community in which they train.
