Three Beach Trials Set for June
Beach NTDP will conduct three trials in June for various Beach age-group national teams. All three trials will provide the winners the opportunity for international play later this year.

The 2022 U20 Beach National Team Championship Trials are the official U.S. qualifying event for the 2022 NORCECA U20 Beach Championships. This is the inaugural year of the event.
Participating athletes must be born on Jan. 1, 2003, onward.
As always, safety is a top priority of USA Volleyball. Although we have all intentions of hosting this event as listed above, USAV holds the right to make adjustments to this event due but not limited to FIVB event cancellation and/or postponement, COVID-19 obstacles, and more. Please know that USA Volleyball will not be held responsible for any financial obligations related to this event. The above terms and conditions may change given the developments of COVID-19 and USA Volleyball’s likelihood of hosting those events.
June 7-9, 2022: Main Draw
- Be eligible to compete for the United States per USAV, NORCECA, FIVB and IOC regulations/requirements.
- Athletes must be a currently registered member of USAV.
- Athletes must be born on Jan. 1, 2003 or later.
- Pairs must register together, and both must meet all athlete requirements.
- Pairs that finish first, second and third at this event, are REQUIRED to attend all training sessions assigned by USA Volleyball between trials and the competition.
- Training dates and locations for the U20 Beach National Teams will be announced at a later date.
- Athletes must be a. U.S. citizen and have a valid passport.
- Must complete all FIVB required paperwork and documents as needed.
- An athlete who is 18 years of age or turns 18 on or before June 9, 2021, must successfully complete the MANDATORY SafeSport training.
- Please note, these requirements are subject to change at anytime.
- First-place finishers are guaranteed a trip to compete in the 2022 NORCECA U20 Beach Championships.
- Second-place finishers will receive a trip to compete at the2022 NORCECA U20 Beach Championships, provided the FIVB allows the U.S. a second team slot.
- The top three finishing teams (first, second and third) must attend the required training sessions listed above.
- USA Volleyball will cover all expenses for all the training sessions and the 2022 NORCECA U20 Beach Championships for these qualified teams.
- PLEASE NOTE: These honors and privileges are contingent upon athletes fulfilling all requirements.
- March 14, 2022: Registration Opens
- May 6, 2022: Registration Deadline
- May 13, 2022: Confirmed entry list released (24 teams will gain entry into the Main Draw followed by a maximum of 24 teams that will gain entry into the qualification tournament).
- May 27, 2022: Coach registration deadline
- May 30, 2022: Last day for any pairs to late register
- June 3, 2022: Last day for any partner changes
*Refunds are issued minus a $20 administrative fee. No refunds after May 23, 2022.
- Price per pair: $250/pair + online fees
- NTDP Discount: Athletes that have participated in an NTDP Training Series will be able to receive a $50 discount per athlete.
- Late Registration Price: $300/pair + online fees
Any athlete who is 18 years of age or turning 18 on or before the last day of trials (June 8, 2022), must complete the SafeSport training in order to be eligible to participate.
- Female Athletes: All female athletes must wear shorts/spandex (1” inseam, min.) and a tank top that covers the midriff when arms are at the sides.
- Male Athletes: Male athletes must wear shorts and tanks. The shorts must be a minimum of 10 inches in length, and the tank tops must cover the midsection.
- Pairs: Each pair should have matching tops, each with different numbers clearly visible that correspond to each player. For competitions, pairs must be dressed identically, including matching tops and bottoms (including lengths).
- Hats, visors, sunglasses and sand socks are considered optional personal attire.
- Cold weather clothing is permitted in conjunctions with the uniform and tops should fit snugly under any uniform.
Athletes must check in as a team. Both partners MUST be present in order to be checked in.
ALL coaches must register to participate in the trials.
- Coaches must register by May 23, 2022.
- All coaches must meet the minimum requirements in order to participate in the event:
- Be a current USAV member in good standing
- Successfully complete SafeSport training
- Successfully completed a USAV background screening
- Hold USAV IMPACT certification
