Badger Region Hosts First Regional Instructor Training Summit

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Sept. 20, 2023) – The Badger Region of USA Volleyball hosted the first Regional Instructor Training Summit on Aug. 10-11 in Wisconsin. Sixteen coaches,  USA Volleyball National Faculty, volunteers and region staff from four regions (Badger, North Country, Iowa and Great Lakes) participated.

“Badger Region was proud to host the first-ever RIT and have great attendees from our region and neighboring regions,” said Badger Region Executive Director and Commissioner Jennifer Armson-Dyer. “To be able to provide a space for collaboration and advancement is something we always strive for, and it was accomplished in those meetings. The wonderful coaching minds that were able to work together, not only for their own advancement but for all of our members as well, was such a great experience. We look forward to seeing the applications of this and other RIT meetings across our region, our zone and the entire country.”

The Regional Instructor Training Summit is a pilot program sponsored by USA Volleyball’s Education Services Department. The goal is to train regional instructors to:

1. Understand the five pillars of the USA Volleyball Development Model and the 80+ modules and resources available in Coach Academy
2. Access lesson plan templates created to assist in their delivery of local Coach Academy live sessions
3. Understand how to use Coach Academy to deliver effective Coach Academy live sessions customized to meet the needs of local coaches

Regional Instructor Training is the next step in the development of USA Volleyball Education Services. With the rollout of Coach Academy and Coach Observation Sessions, more USA Volleyball coaches at the club level are gaining access to training from national-level coaches, experts and educators.
