  • Volleyball icon At 17, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in his right knee. Beat the cancer through a knee replacement and eight months of chemo, but the surgery resulted in a series of staph infections. After 16 surgeries and two additional knee replacements, decided to have the leg amputated
