Beach National Team IC Coach
Jose Loiola is a U.S. Beach National Team independent contractor coach currently working with Tri Bourne and Trevor Crabb.
Loiola has more than 30 years of volleyball experience, including a decade working with the U.S. Beach National Teams. In his career, his coached Jeremy Casebeer and Casey Jennings (2014), Caitlin Ledoux and Irene Hester (2015), Theo Brunner and Nick Lucena (2015, fourth at the FIVB World Championship), Emily Day and Jen Kessy (2015), Sara Hughes and Kelly Claes (2017), and Sara Hughes and Summer Ross (2018-19). Current team Bourne and Crabb are in the hunt for an Olympic spot in Tokyo.
As a player, Loiola was a top man on the beach for Brazil, competing in the Sydney Olympic Games. He and partner Emanuel Rego were named FIVB Team of the Decade for the 1990s; the pair won the 1999 FIVB World title. He’s been inducted into the International Hall of Fame and Brazil National Hall of Fame.
