Beach National Team IC Coach

Rich Lambourne is a U.S. Beach National Team independent contractor coach currently working with Jake Gibb and Taylor Crabb.

Lambourne is a two-time Olympian with the U.S. Men’s National Team, earning gold in 2008 as a libero. He competed with the national team from 2001-12, and was part of the team that finished sixth at the 2010 World Championship and first in the 2008 World League. In 2012, he started all 97 sets in which the top U.S. Men’s Team competed and led the team in digs. He also played in every set of the 2008 Olympic Games.

He began coaching in 2014 as the assistant coach for Jake Gibb/Casey Patterson and for Emily Day and Summer Ross. In the last five years, he’s also been the head coach for Day and Jennifer Kessy (2015), Theo Brunner and Sean Rosenthal (2016), and Theo Brunner and Casey Patterson. He’s been working with Gibb and Crabb since 2018.
