USA Volleyball Coach Observation Session – Fort Lauderdale

USA Volleyball’s Education Services department is piloting a new opportunity for USA Volleyball member coaches. Coaches will directly observe NTDP Indoor Summer Training Series; a high-level training environment within the USA Volleyball National Team system featuring many of the nation’s top coaches and junior athletes by age group. While observing, coaches get exclusive access to on-court training, and meetings and instruction. There will be six available sessions that can each accommodate eight coaches. These pilot sessions will be available at a reduced cost of $50 per session.

The National Team Development Program (NTDP) mission is to identify, recruit and accelerate the development of high-potential junior volleyball athletes for the purpose of achieving sustained international competitive excellence. Age-group categories begin with girls under-15 and boys under-16, with under-21 as the oldest age group for both. Athletes are selected for the NTDP Training Series via a nationwide scouting network and are also in consideration for USA Volleyball’s underage national teams.

Observing coaches who register will receive the following:

• Opportunity for direct observation of NTDP Training Series sessions featuring the nation’s top coaches and athletes
• Live audio feed from the four (4) NTDP head coaches via a cutting–edge transmitter/receiver
• Flexibility to choose which NTDP age groups, genders and coaches to observe
• Access to a customized USAV Coach Academy online education module containing text, videos, graphics and resources prepared by USAV National Team staff to assist them in their preparation, observation and analysis of the sessions
• Exclusive on-court access to training sessions and program meetings
• Group participation in pre and post training session debriefs with USAV staff and head coaches
• Opportunities to network with local coaches in your area
• One-month FREE registration to a Gold subscription in the USAV Coach Academy

Program Themes
The NTDP Summer Training Series will provide an exceptional training environment focusing on program themes that are set by the head coaches in consultation with national team staff. The themes of training will align with skills for each position that translate to success at the international level of volleyball. The themes for this training are as follows:

• Block and Defense Systems – Reading and Identifying Advantageous Situations
• Serving – Pre-Serve Ritual and Breath
• Serve Reception – Float Serve Reception

These are the primary themes coaches will be exposed to on-site and will learn about as an observing coach.

Gear
All participating coaches will receive one USA Volleyball Mizuno polo.
