Mark Peterson is a partner with O’Melveny, an international law firm, where his focuses are corporate and transactional, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, and life sciences.

His career began in 1991 with O’Melveny, after which he was general counsel and chief legal officers of several different public and private owned companies. Peterson returned to O’Melveny in 2001 as a partner.

Peterson serves as board chair for the USA Volleyball Foundation; board member and executive committee member for J. Reuben Clark Law Society; as well as board member on Meade Instruments Corp., Forum for Corporate Directors, and University of California at Irvine’s Audit Committee Roundtable. He also serves as an advisory board member on the UCI Center for Corporate Legal Leadership, is on the Orange County Bar Association Finance Committee and also a lecturer for a business law class in the UCI MBA Program.

Peterson graduated in 1988 cum laude from the Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s of science in accounting. Following that he attended the University of California at Berkeley and earned his juris doctorate in law in 1991.

Scott Fortune is an equity research analyst with ROTH Capital Partners, an investment banking firm that has raised more than $60 billion for small-cap companies and completed over 350 merger, acquisition and advisory assignments.

Prior to working with ROTH, he was a portfolio manager and research analyst for Magee Thomson Investment Partners and also worked on the international fund for Duncan-Hurst Capital Management. Before working in money management, he was a founder and vice president of finance for the start-up firm nTrusted.

Before embracing a finance and investment career, Fortune played volleyball professionally for 10 years. A two-time Olympian with the U.S. Men’s National Team, he captured gold (1988) and bronze (1992) medals and served as the captain of the 1992 U.S. Olympic Men’s Team.

Since 1988, Fortune has served on various committees for USA Volleyball. He serves on the Finance & Budget, Audit, and Nominating & Governance Committees for USAV. He also was the volleyball representative for the USOC Athlete Advisory Council for four years.

Fortune received his MBA from the University of San Diego and his undergraduate degree in economics from Stanford University.

Andy Reitinger is CEO and president of VSTAR, a sports event planning company. He is also president of Club Sports of North Texas, Inc., a nonprofit youth sports organization.

Reitinger has also served on various boards and committees. In addition to being on the USA Volleyball Foundation board, he’s chair of the USA Volleyball Governance Committee. In the past, he was a board member of the USA Volleyball Board of Directors. Reitinger is also the current chair of the Regional Volleyball Association Assembly as well as the current commissioner and president of the North Texas Region of USA Volleyball.

Reitinger has been married to his wife, Vicki, for 30 years with whom he has three children: Taylor (27), Spenser (26) and Alexis (23). He lives in New Hope, Texas, where he serves on the town council as mayor.

Stewart McDole, Ph.D. serves as the treasurer and a director for the USAV Foundation board. He is now in his 36th season as the head coach of the Graceland women’s volleyball program, where he has amassed more than 900 wins. In addition, he has been named the HAAC Coach of the Year 12 times. A postseason qualifier in 34 seasons, his Yellowjacket programs have produced 24 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America selections and 58 All-America scholar-athletes.

McDole is a 1965 Graceland graduate; he later completed both a master’s and a doctorate in leisure studies at Indiana University. He spent two years as director of athletics for Graceland and chaired the board of governors of the HAAC during that stint. Part of his present assignment includes teaching physical education and leisure services administration. McDole also served a seven-year stint as the academic division chair.

In June 2005, McDole was awarded the Dr. Harold T. Friermood “Frier” Award, USA Volleyball’s highest honor. McDole is an elected officer of USA Volleyball, where he served first as a board member for 10 years and subsequently as corporate treasurer for a total of 15 years, and as executive vice president for four. USA Volleyball recognized him with the George J. Fisher Leader in Volleyball Award in 1978. In 1986, he was inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame.

McDole served 18 years on the board of directors for the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) as the NAIA representative and was a member of the AVCA executive committee. In February 1990, McDole was the cover feature for the AVCA’s official journal, Coaching Volleyball. He received the AVCA Founders Award in 1997 and in 2003, McDole was one of 23 members of the inaugural Hall of Fame class inducted by the AVCA.

McDole and his wife, Patty, are parents to three children: Chad, Mica and Corey (all Graceland grads). The McDoles are also the owners and operators of “Country Plus,” a gift and Hallmark store in Lamoni, Iowa.

Brook Billings is the founder of Billings Beach Homes and one of Strand Hill Properties top Southern California’s brokers. His network includes commercial and private real estate investment groups, personal financial planners, and one of South Bay’s top private mortgage companies.

Billings is an Olympian and was a U.S. Men’s National Team member from 2002 to 2009. He played 14 years of professional volleyball abroad in 10 different countries and has recently retired. He is now settled in Southern California with his wife and two kids.

Billings was born and raised in Santa Barbara, Calif., and attended the University of Southern California where he studied public policy and management. He was a four-time All-American for the USC men’s volleyball team.

Felonta Evans is a former collegiate basketball player from Grambling State University where he attained his degree in accounting followed by a 26-year progressive career in the banking industry.

Evans serves as a local banking president in the DFW market for Prosperity Bank, which is a $33 billion regional bank headquartered in the Houston, Texas, area. He has been with the company and its recently acquired local bank for seven years. A huge part of his role includes staff management and community involvement, as well as growing the bank’s consumer, small business and mid-sized business portfolios.

Prior to Prosperity, Evans worked at a regional bank, local bank, and had a 12-year tenure at JP Morgan Chase. During his career at JP Morgan, he was honored to win three Presidential sales awards and was part of the first National RM Leadership Council that originally trained out of Chicago for the bank.

Before starting a career in banking and finance, Evans was a four-year student-athlete at Grambling State University and was coached under two former NBA players, including former NBA champion Larry Wright. Evans feels that playing against 20 NBA draftees during his tenure in college helped prepare him for life’s competitive challenges post collegiate athletics. His high school career was comprised of going to the Louisiana State Class A Final 4 for four straight years, winning two championships, and one runner-up. That was topped off by being a two-time all-state award winner and a senior year Class A State MVP and championship tournament MVP.

Evans also has held experience as a former business owner by owning a franchise for six years. The majority of his time outside of his career is spent with his wife and two daughters, who are avid high school and club volleyball players in the DFW area.

Hirschmann is an experienced business founder with a demonstrated track record of successfully launching and scaling new businesses, building leadership teams, driving innovation, raising capital and creating strategic partnerships/relationship. He has deep experience working with wireless carriers globally, wireless OEMs and the broader telecom marketplace. He is passionate about creating new businesses anchored in the organizational aspiration of ‘community’ and built around the ideas of belonging, well-being, inclusiveness and standing-in-service to those push to the margins in society.

Most recently, Hirschmann brought together an amazing team of volleyball icons, sports industry veterans and seasoned entrepreneurs to form League One Volleyball (LOVB) in 2019. Their goal is to transform the landscape of women’s sport in the U.S. by building the largest community of youth volleyball clubs, building a U.S.-based professional indoor women’s volleyball league and creating a volley-centric sport and lifestyle media brand that all together empower women and our build our next generation of leaders.

Beyond work, Hirschmann lives in Honolulu, Hawaii, with his wife, Malia, and his two teenagers, Kanoa and Maile. He is endlessly focused on becoming a better husband, father, friend, runner and surfer

Edward Keller is the co-founder and CEO at Smart Science Education, Inc., an innovated online education solution delivering real science labs over the internet.

Keller played a few AVP tournaments on the sand, and he is well known as a beach volleyball superfan, traveling the world to watch Beach Pro Tour and AVP events.

He has a bachelor’s degree in physics from Brown.

Kim McHugh is the vice president of drilling and completions for Chevron. She assumed the position in May 2018 and is based in Houston, Texas. McHugh is responsible for all aspects of Chevron’s global drilling, completion and workover operations.

Prior to her current role, she was the general manager of drilling and completions in Houston. McHugh is a second-generation driller who grew up in the industry and has lived in many parts of the U.S. as well as internationally. Her career has spanned operations in the Gulf of Mexico, Thailand and U.S. onshore.

McHugh has worked for Chevron, BP, Unocal and ARCO. She has held various roles in managing field operations, engineering and global performance.

She is a graduate of Texas A&M University where she received her Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in petroleum engineering.

Kim serves on the board of Girls on the Run and the Well Control Institute. She is on the Advisory Council for the International Associated of Drilling Contractors Producers and a member of the Corporate Guild for Dress for Success. She lives in Katy, Texas with her husband, Dennis, and their three children.

Izell Reese is the president and general manager for Reigning Champs Experiences.

A former college athlete, Reese walked on at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, eventually earning a scholarship, and posting stats that drew the attention of NFL scouts. Reese was drafted in 1998 by the Dallas Cowboys. He played seven years in the NFL, spending his career playing for the Dallas Cowboys, Denver Broncos and Buffalo Bills.

Reese joined the Reigning Champs family 12 years ago and has remained dedicated to the company’s mission of helping student-athletes pursue a path to college through sports. He has helped secure notable partnerships with several governing bodies, pro sports leagues and sports-centric brands with a focus on youth sports.

His successful body of work led Reigning Champs to announce the 2019 launch of RC Experiences (RCX), an experiential, youth-sports focused organization designed to engage athletes, families and coaches in new, innovative and experiential ways. RCX’s sole mission is to improve accessibility and inclusivity of sports by enhancing the youth sports experience and creating opportunities for all athletes to play. RCX current partners and properties include the NFL, NFL FLAG, Jr. NBA, NAIA Showcases, adidas Volleyball Experience, Rivals Camp Series and the 2022 World Games.

Dr. Cecile Reynaud spent 26 seasons as head coach at Florida State until her retirement in 2001, yet was a coaching mentor for so many outside of the Seminole program.

Reynaud, who accepted the head coach position at Florida State at age 22, posted a 635-326 record with the Seminoles, which ranked ninth all-time in NCAA Division I victories at the time of her retirement. Her teams claimed six Metro Conference Championships, one ACC title and competed in 10 NCAA Tournaments. In her final season, the Seminoles reached the ACC Championship match. Reynaud earned conference Coach of the Year honors four times during her career.

Reynaud has lent her skills to USA Volleyball on many occasions. She has been a member of the USA Volleyball’s Coaching Accreditation Program teaching cadre and has served on USA Volleyball’s Board of Directors for more than 19 years. She is a member of the USA Volleyball Hall of Fame and received the organization’s highest honor, the Frier Award, in 2016.

Reynaud served as coach for the 2009 and 2010 U.S. Girls Youth Continental Teams that competed in the USA Volleyball High Performance Championships. In 1983, she coached the 1983 U.S. Women’s Junior National Team and the U.S. World University Games Team.

Internationally, Reynaud was an FIVB instructor from 1999 to 2006 after serving as the deputy competition manager for the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. She was co-editor of “The Volleyball Coaching Bible” that came out in 2002. Reynaud has been a technical consultant for two Power Volleyball films and has co-authored numerous articles pertaining to women’s athletics.

Reynaud served as president of the American Volleyball Coaches Association from 1989-1990. She later served as AVCA’s education and publication representative for over a decade starting in 2006

She is currently vice president for volleyball operations for the Pro Volleyball Federation.

Todd Rogers has been the head coach of the Cal Poly women’s beach volleyball program since February 2016 and was previously assistant men’s volleyball coach at UC Santa Barbara from 2000 to 2005.

He has also served on the USA Volleyball Audit, Finance & Budget Committee, and is a two-time Olympian who won the gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Games with partner Phil Dalhausser. He has career earnings of more than $2 million that includes 24 FIVB victories, two NORCECA victories and 54 domestic victories.

Known for his defense, he was tabbed FIVB Best Defensive Player four times between 2006 and 2010 along with FIVB Best Setter in 2005 as well as AVP Best Defensive Player every year between 2004-2008. Rogers and Dalhausser were selected FIVB Team of the Year in 2010 after winning the FIVB Tour Champion award with nine tour titles. The duo also set a FIVB record in 2010 for most wins in a season. He and Dalhausser won the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships in 2007 and were AVP Crocs Cup Champions in 2006 and 2007.

Rogers played collegiate indoor volleyball at UC Santa Barbara where he ranks second in both digs and assists and was a two-time All-American selection.

Danielle Scott played an incredible 19 seasons for the U.S. Women’s National Team and sustained excellence at the highest level. She is one of only four volleyball players – male or female – to have participated in five Olympic Games.

Scott’s career also included four FIVB World Cup appearances, three FIVB World Championships selections and 11 FIVB World Grand Prix tournaments.

Scott joined the U.S. Women’s National Team on a full-time basis in 1994 and retired from the international game in 2013 during an exhibition series with Japan on the campus of her alma mater, Long Beach State.

From her international debut to retirement, she earned many accolades and medals. Scott was selected Best Blocker at the 2000 Olympic Games. She sparked the Americans to the 2001 FIVB World Grand Prix title as she was honored with the MVP, Best Scorer and Best Blocker awards. In the following year, she led the U.S. to the 2002 FIVB World Championship silver medal and named Best Blocker.

Scott was the Team USA flag bearer at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio. Later that year, the Americans finished third at the 2007 FIVB World Cup. Team USA claimed silver at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

After missing all of 2010 while pregnant with her daughter Julianne, Scott worked herself back into shape and helped Team USA win gold at the 2011 FIVB World Grand Prix and silver at the 2011 FIVB World Cup. Danielle was selected to her fifth Olympic Games at the age of 39 and earned her second consecutive Olympic silver medal.

Scott was inducted into the International Volleyball Hall of Fame in 2016 an is also a member of the USA Volleyball Hall of Fame.

Megan Sweeney is the associate director of development at Crystal Springs Uplands School in Hillsborough, Calif.

In her role, she oversees all aspects of the Annual Giving program, with a goal of $3.2 million. In partnership with the chief advancement and strategy officer, she also leads the $50 million Thrive Together capital campaign.

Previously at Crystal Springs, she spent time in various roles including interim chief of staff, director of parent engagement, director of parent programs, and senior advancement associate.

Sweeney has a bachelor’s degree in sports management (finance focus) from Loyola University Chicago.
