NTDP Releases 2023 Beach, Indoor Training Series Schedule

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (February 7, 2023) – Building on the success of its 2022 Training Series, USA Volleyball’s National Team Development Program (NTDP) is announcing its 2023 Training Series schedule, including five indoor and five beach events.

Held quarterly, the NTDP Training Series helps accelerate athlete advancement by giving selected players the chance to work with top volleyball coaches and to train with the best against the best. Experienced coaches will provide guidance and feedback that players can take back to their club and/or school teams.

These development programs use the philosophy, methods and culture of the U.S. National Teams to help USA Volleyball achieve and maintain success internationally.

The five indoor events will be held in California, Colorado (at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center), Florida and Washington D.C.

The five beach events will be in California and Virginia. There will be residential Beach Training Series events held for a second year at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center.

Athletes are selected for the Training Series by coaches with the NTDP Scouting Network. These scouts continually identify athletes at various events including boys and girls qualifiers and high school and club tournaments across the country.

“The results of this collaborative approach have provided a tenfold increase in the number of athletes who are seen and can be recommended for our NTDP Training Series,” said Peter Vint, USA Volleyball Chief of Sport.

Age group categories for the NTDP Training Series begin with girls under-15 and boys under-16, with under-19 as the oldest age groups for both genders. Select training series events will include the under-21 age group for both genders.
