COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Sept. 24, 2019) – The city of Pittsburgh will host the 2020 USA Volleyball High Performance Championships for the first time on July 22-26.
Teams will compete at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in downtown Pittsburgh.
The HPCs are expected to draw more than 100 teams and 1,200 athletes to Pittsburgh filling eight different age and gender championship brackets.
The event showcases boys’ and girls’ teams from the USAV HP pipeline, regional high-performance teams and 8-12 teams from foreign countries. In the last few years, youth and junior national teams have from Chile, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Peru, Canada, New Zealand and Mexico have attended, along with those from the United States.

“The sport of volleyball is growing regionally, and we look forward to welcoming so many skilled national and international youth athletes to our legendary sports city and providing an iconic experience for them as they work toward growing their skills.”
Prior to the HPC, approximately 400 athletes from the USA Volleyball High Performance pipeline will vie for spots on the top teams in their age groups in a five-day training camp, which will also be at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.
Tryouts for the USAV HP pipeline take place from January to March for boys and February to April for girls.
