SLC Showdown Qualifier Roaring into Salt Lake this Weekend

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (April 7, 2023) – The 2023 Salt Lake City Showdown Qualifier hits the Salt Palace Convention Center in Utah this weekend (April 8-10) and next (April 14-16). Utah is part of USA Volleyball’s Intermountain Region.

The event qualifies teams for the USA Volleyball Girls National Championship. More than 900 teams will compete at the event with approximately 15,000 athletes expected per weekend in Salt Lake City. Doors will open at 7 a.m. with competition taking place in Halls A-E and 1-5.

This first weekend will see teams in the 11s, 12s, 16s and 17s divisions competing. The second weekend will have competition for 13s, 14s and 15s divisions.

The Salt Lake City Showdown is one of 13 qualifiers around the country for the 2023 USA Volleyball Girls Junior National Championship. The championship for 14s-17s will be June 28-July 6 at McCormack Palace in Chicago. The championship for 11s-13s will be held June 14-17 at the Minneapolis (Minn.) Convention Center.
