COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (July 27, 2020) – Teams from Texas won the Girls 14U and 18U divisions while mixed-state teams won the Boys 12U, 14U and 18U divisions on Sunday, the final day of the USA National Beach Tour Junior Championship in Huntsville, Ala.
USA Volleyball held the championship in partnership with Rally Volleyball Club, the Huntsville Sports Commission and the City of Huntsville.
Almost 350 girls and boys beach teams from 27 states registered to compete in the championship at John Hunt Park.
Keagan Polk and Natalie Glenn, both of Southlake, Texas, won the Girls 18U Division with a 21-16, 21-15 victory in the final over Hailey Hamlett (Bulverde, Texas) and Alexis Durish (San Antonio, Texas).
Angelina and Isabella Ferary of Marietta, Ga., finished third, with a 21-13, 21-11 win over Mackenzie Murphy (Columbia, Ill.) and Katie Camp (Canton, Ga.).
Mackenzie Miller (Leander, Texas) and Avery Jackson (Dallas, Texas) won gold in the Girls 14U Division with a 21-19, 21-19 win over Kennedy Coakley (Lutz, Fla.) and Samantha Crosby (Windamere, Fla.) in the final.
Olivia LeBlanc (Glendale, Ariz.) and Myriah Massey (Pickerington, Ohio) took third with a 21-18, 23-21 win over Rylie Springer (Acworth, Ga.) and Macy Bolyard (Summerfield, N.C.).
For the boys, Calahan Heffner (Austin, Texas) and Nicklas Eichenberger (Lee’s Summit, Missouri) took gold after beating Ryan Peluso (Miami, Fla.) and Christopher Connelly (Naples, Fla.) in a final battle, 21-18, 14-21, 18-16.
Jacob Miller (Hendersonville, Tenn.) and Dominic Hagerty (Cincinnati, Ohio) took third, beating Lucas Osiecki (Middle Village, N.Y.) and Peter Gavroff (Brooklyn, N.Y.), 21-12, 21-15.
Harrison Girard (Greenwich, Conn.) and Caleb Blanchette (Brentwood, Tenn.) took the Boys 14U title, beating Luke Couret (Metairie, La.) and Ethan Romero (Cypress, Texas) in the final, 21-11, 21-7.
Richard Getteau (Houston, Texas) and Caleb Kidder (Lafayette, La.) took third. They beat Reece Leftwich (Allen, Texas) and Thomas Phung (Garland, Texas), 21-16, 18-21, 15-11.
Cole Esparza (Ballwin, Mo.) and Sutton Massey (Shiloh, Ill.) won the Boys 12U Division, beating Samuel Dicken (St. Louis, Mo.) and Kaden Buchanan (Nashville, Tenn.) in the final, 21-19, 21-13.
